The St. Vincent De Paul Society is a group parishioners who review the previous week’s applications for aid, from people who live within our parish and who have not received our assistance during the preceding twelve months. The ministry then divide the applicants’ papers among its members and go to the residences to verify their occupancy, their identities’ and their needs. This ministry will help them with utilities (excluding phone), rent; and after listening to extenuating circumstances, we may help them with food, medical bills, or other necessities. The money comes from some donations, but primarily from the second collection taken up on the first Sunday of every month. Anyone who is truly interested in helping the very neediest in our parish would be most welcome to join our small congregation.
